50 × 60 cm – Acrylic on canvas.
This piece was inspired by the joy I felt seeing so many queer women celebrated in media and the arts. Created in the style of a scrapbook, much like the ones I would have made as a teenager, filled with cut-outs of my favourite musicians, actors, and artists, it’s a tribute to what’s been called the Lesbian Renaissance. The past few years have seen an incredible rise in lesbian visibility across music, art, and film, and it fills me with pride. My younger self would be overjoyed to witness this representation, the kind I always longed for growing up.
